MAY
May 7 - Pruning Trees & Shrubs -Learn when, how, and why to Prune. Do not prune early blooming trees and shrubs that have their flower buds ready to open in early spring. Most of the plants that bloom later in the season are the ones to prune. They bloom on the new spring growth, not on last seasons stems.
May 14 - Composting -Learn how to successfully create your own organic enricher for your gardens. All biodegradable material will break down. There are tricks to speed up this process which is a biological one.
May 21 - Cut flower gardening - Annuals make the best cut flowers. Bachelor buttons, sunflowers, dahlias, asters, and zinnias plus many others will be discussed. How to grow them successfully and hints on how to cut and arrange them.
May 28 - Container Gardens - How to plant your window boxes and planters to put on your porch or deck and have them look beautiful all summer long. The combination of plants in the container make all the difference.
| JUNE June 4 - Herbs & Herb Gardens - Annual and perennial Herbs for culinary use & how to grow them sucessfully. Danga Gabis teaches all you need to know! Followed by an Herb Container Workshop (send us an Email, or sign up at the Nursery for the workshop)
June 11 - Unusual Annuals & Vines - Learn about the more unusual annuals that have proven to be winners at Vineyard Gardens. Annual Vines we grow will bloom all summer long! Try something new like the Black Eyed Susan Vine, or the Star of Yelta Morning Glory.
June 18 - Low maintenance Shrubs - If your landscaping plan calls for minimal upkeep you need to be here!
June 25 - Deer Resistant Gardens - Certain plants are less palatable to our forest friends. Certain Perennials and many Herbs, also some Trees and Shrubs are usually left alone by Deer. If Deer are a problem for you let us share our 25 years of Island Experience with you!
